On May 14th, Public Power hosted some of the world's most renowned athletes at a national sales event that celebrated Public Power - an energy supplier who gives the Public the Power to Save!

APRIL 3, 2010: CHARITY HOCKEY GAME

On April 3, 2010, Public Power was the presenting sponsor of the ice hockey challenge between the Danbury Police and Fire Departments at the Danbury Ice Arena. The Danbury Police Department, led by Team Captain, Sergeant John Krupinsky, played for the Law Enforcement Survivor's Fund. This charity ensures that the widows and children of Officers killed in the line of duty are taken care of and not forgotten. The Danbury Fire Department, led by Team Captain, Lieutenant Jamie Schiller, played for two charities: the Connecticut Children's Burn Camp (a free week- long summer camp that provides activities for children who have suffered varying degrees of burn injuries), and the Companions in Courage Foundation (helps children by building interactive "fun rooms" in children's hospitals all across America). A total of $5,000 was raised, with 3,000 attendees including NHL Hall of Famer, Stanley Cup Champion and Public Power spokesman, Phil Esposito.

 
 
APRIL 18, 2010: CONNECTICUT CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER "STEP UP TO THE PLATE"

On April 18, 2010, Public Power sponsored the first annual "Step up to the Plate" fundraising event at Stafford Springs Motor Speedway, which raised $5000 for Connecticut Children's Medical Center. All funds are going specifically to build a new clinical care center for children with cancer and blood disorders. Retired Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees players set aside years of rivalry to participate in this meet-and-greet autograph event and auction. Highlighting the evening were appearances by former New York Yankee Shortstop Bucky Dent and former Boston Red Sox pitchers Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd and Bill Lee. Additionally, former Red Sox short stop Dick McAuliffe participated in "Step Up to the Plate."

 
 
ID Tweet & Public Power Launch 'Green Machine' Program
They'll Plant 500,000+ Trees in 2010


ORLANDO, Fla. April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- ID Tweet, an Orlando marketing company, has announced an initiative to plant over 500,000 trees in 2010 with its client, Public Power of Danbury, Connecticut.  Their joint program, called Green Machine, is part of the two companies' commitment to battle the climate crisis by putting one billion cubic tons of oxygen back into the environment through their planting efforts.

Public Power is a licensed electricity supplier created as a result of industry deregulation, which offers consumers an alternative choice to utilities in deregulated states. The company delivers the same supply to residences, businesses and municipalities that they are accustomed to but generally at a much lower rate.
